Last morning in Istanbul

Our last morning we headed to the Spice Bazaar and to lunch.  The Spice Bazaar area is a very busy area, great for people watching!  We didn't see much of the Spice Bazaar, we'll have to go back there on our next trip!

Turkish Delight!

Rotisserie Chicken for lunch!  Every now and then you'd hear a rooster crowing! The guy behind the counter would push a button with a recording.  Sick, but funny!

Shwarma...yum
Feed the birds (pigeons).  Buy some seed from this little lady.

What a great group to travel with!  We had a blast.  Time to head back to Jerusalem.

Good friends, Good food, Good views

We went to the 7 Hills restaurant one night and had a marvelous meal.  The restaurant is on the top floor of the 7 Hills Hotel, and the view is spectacular, as is the food.  We had such a good time.  We had Sea Bass from the Mediterranean and Turbot from the Black Sea.  Makes my mouth water thinking about it as I write this.  After we ate, we went out on the patio to see the beautiful view at night.

YUMMY!

Panorama view of the Bosphorus

Tomorrow I'll post pictures of the Spice Bazaar.  Then we have to leave Istanbul. Peace.

Roof Top Views!

The roof top of our hotel had great views of the Bosphorus, and the surrounding areas of the hotel.  The China Shipping Company had  a huge boat coming in loaded with containers and the tour boats were cruising the Bosphorus .

Check out the "eye" above the roof of the front door.

The Galata Tower in the distance, on the other side of the Bosphorus in Asia.

Istiklal Street was around the corner from our house in Kuwait, and I've always liked the name! There is an Istiklal street in Istanbul on the Asian side of the Bosphorus that is a great shopping street!!!!

The Grand Bazaar

The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is  HUGE!  We were lucky that it was not crowded.  That's a two-edged sword though, because if there aren't a lot of people there, it gives the vendors more time to harrass YOU! For that reason, we didn't even scratch the surface of the bazaar.  I got the feel for the place and left.
