The Blue Mosque

The Blue Mosque is the"greatest and most splendid mosque in Istanbul", so says the tour book, and it is absolutely correct.  It can be seen from almost any point in Istanbul.  One of the unique features of this mosque is that it has 6 minerets, the only one in Turkey with that many.  I've whittled the pictures for this posting down considerably from the number that I took!  The tiles inside are spectacular, and after all the ceramic shopping in the bazaars, the designs are now familiar: tulips, carnations, and vines.  Lovely.

A never-ending job!
